You MUST read, understand and agree to all of the information on this page prior to making your boarding reservation.

Pickup/Drop-off: Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm, excluding certain holidays. Check with us in advance.

Appointments are required for dropping off and picking up your pet. These are actual appointments that allow the smooth functioning of the entire facility and are specific times, not a time range. ***NOTE: If you do arrive at a time other than your scheduled time, an additional fee will be applied.

Pets are boarded at our facility 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and are checked a minimum of twice a day. However, keep in mind the specific pickup and drop-off times above.

While pets are supervised closely, they are not supervised 24 hours a day.

  1. Pet owners must provide written proof of all of the following requirements a minimum of one day prior to scheduling a boarding reservation. We strongly encourage you to get records to us much sooner than that. Records should be emailed to [email protected]. We will not schedule boarding prior to having records. We need actual medical records or an actual vaccine certificate. Invoices or receipts are not adequate.
  2. In general, you are strongly encouraged to plan well in advance of a boarding stay. Depending on your pet’s needs, it could take weeks to get the requirements up to date, possibly have a trial boarding stay, etc.
  3. For the protection of your pet and the others in the boarding facility, we require written proof of the following:
    • All dogs must be current on Distemper, Hepatitis (Adenovirus), Parvovirus, Bordetella, Parainfluenza and Rabies vaccines.
    • All cats must be current on Feline Herpesvirus, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia and Rabies vaccines.
    • We do not accept vaccines done at home for boarding purposes.
    • Vaccines must be administered at least one week prior to the time of your reservation.
    • Pets must have had a physical exam and a negative fecal evaluation within the past year.
  4. We MUST be informed when making your reservation if your pet has any medical conditions or behavioral issues.
  1. The day of drop-off will be charged as one day of boarding. On the day of pick-up, if your pet is picked up before 12:00pm, you will not be charged for that day of boarding. Any pick-up after 12:00pm is considered another day of boarding. Check-out time is noon.
  2. Payment is due when you pick up your pet. For reservations lasting longer than two weeks, a deposit of half of the total estimated charges is due when the reservation is made.
  3. If your pet is not on a flea preventive, we may administer one at our discretion to prevent an outbreak in the boarding facility. If fleas or flea dirt are noted, we will treat for fleas topically and/or orally. Furthermore, treatment for tapeworms (which may be transmitted via fleas) may be given. Charges for these treatments will be added to your invoice.
  4. If your pet is on medication, check with us in advance to make sure that the medication schedule fits within our business hours. We can not administer medication when staff is not present.
  5. Appropriate food can be provided for your pet, at an additional fee (see below). However, you are strongly encouraged to bring the food that your pet is used to eating. This reduces the chances that your pet will be picky about eating or experience intestinal upset. If your pet requires a special diet, you must supply enough food for the length of your reservation along with an additional supply, in case of emergency.
  6. Calorie requirements will go down while in boarding. Factor that in to the amount of food your pet should be fed while here. If appropriate, we will reduce the amount of food being fed to your pet while here.
  7. Note that we provide canned food for cats. We strongly discourage the feeding of dry food to cats at any time.
  8. Bedding is provided for your pets. If you wish to bring your own bedding and it becomes soiled, we may be able to wash it if time permits and if it fits into a standard-sized washing machine. While we make every effort to keep personal items (bedding, toys, etc.) in their original condition, there is a risk that they may become damaged or lost.
  9. Do not bring inappropriate toys for your pets. We will not allow harmful items for your pet.
  10. If you would like for your pet to have an examination or any other services before going home, please let us know at least a week in advance and at the time of drop-off. Ability to perform additional services will be dependent on regular case load.
  11. If your pet has never boarded here before, we encourage the idea of a “trial” boarding of two to six hours while we are open, and you are available. There will be a regular boarding charge for this.
  12. We reserve the right to refuse boarding for any pet if we feel it is not in the best interest of the pet, staff or CCVH.
  13. Any contagious or possibly contagious condition will prevent your pet from boarding. This includes but is not limited to coughing, sneezing and certain eye problems.
  14. If your pet is determined to be unsafe or unhealthy enough to board here at any point after being admitted to our facility, you and/or your emergency contact will be notified to pick up your pet immediately.

Discounts

Current Patient Discount: A “current patient” is defined as a pet who has received a physical exam at Covington Creek Veterinary Hospital within the year prior to boarding. Current patients of CCVH will receive a discount of $2.00 per day.

Multiple Pet Boarding Discount: A discount of $2.00 per day will be honored if more than one pet is being boarded in the same run or cage. This discount is applied per run or per cage, not per pet. Please note that the management of the Boarding Facility will make the final determination as to the appropriate number of pets per run or cage, and will not allow crowding.
